So says the seriously Chicago guy. Honestly, though, the few times I’ve had it, it’s... okay, I guess.

As a counterpoint, Detroit Pizza Company is fantastic. 

They are absolutely not fully cooked and then frozen. I have been eating these pizzas for years growing up in Chicago and then finally Safeway started carrying them in California.  All you have to do is look at the cheese to know it’s not cooked ahead of time.

Home Run Inn frozen is the only frozen pizza worth buying.   They are seriously the best frozen pizza.  Might cost $8 each, but so worth it.

I’ve never been that big of a fan of Home Run Inn as a restaurant. I mean, it’s good, but Chicago has so many good pizza places.

They are a little sparse on toppings, especially the pepperoni.  But in all seriousness, they are so much better than any other frozen pizza, it doesn’t matter.  The crust is so good, you don’t even feel like you’re eating frozen pizza.

I recently had a few of these and they were pretty good. I would also recommend Motor City Pizza for those of you who don’t faint at the sight of a square pizza.

I’m glad these brands are expanding, because a lot of my former go-to brands like Digiorno’s and Freschetta seem to have developed an awful chemical aftertast…
