It’s been over 30 years since the previous “super mario” movie. You would think that so-called film critics these days would not be as “out of touch” as the average audience goer.

Just got back from taking my son to see it. It was fun, he was delighted, and I’m a hero for a day for letting him stay up late to go see a movie on a school night. The Yoshi egg made him smile.
The special effects and costuming were great, but the writing was just abysmal. Viewers who did stick around til the end were not rewarded.
this just isnt true. house of the dragon had 10 million viewers for the first day of its premiere compared t0 25 million for rings of power. your numbers also dont point out that the house of dragon numbers were for usa, while ring of power was globally.
I mean, yeah. And that’s not a great place to be if your show cost 700 million to produce!
I think the big problem isn’t that people aren’t willing to wait for the buildup, it’s that the core characters being focused on in Phase 4 don’t have the charisma or team dynamic that made Phases 1-2 work even with a few of the more mediocre stories.
None of the new actors have the appeal that ScarJo, Evans,…
No, the latest update is the DA has filed charges. No one except his lawyer is claiming the victim recanted. And it shouldn’t that understand why not to take that at face value.
I mean, there’s still all that horrific shit of him sliding into underage girls DMs and telling them they’re hot jailbait.
Smith put it out in front of the world and made it everybody’s business.
JADA MADE IT EVERYONE’S BUSINESS BY PUTTING IT ON THAT STUPID SHOW AND AIRING WILL’S PAIN FOR THE WORLD TO SEE.
No one in the world would even remember that joke, positively or negatively, if Will Smith hadn’t reacted in an insane way. It’s the silliest throwaway joke in the world, but it gave us a the world’s worst insight into an insane relationship dynamic.
You know it’s gonna be an all-timer when none of the writers want to attach their name to the article
It’s almost like the writers for this site are unfunny, untalented hacks.
I saw him live a few weeks ago. A massive detail the AVClub is selectively leaving out, to maximize the outrage you’re supposed to feel, is that he’s pointing out that she cheated on him by sleeping with their teenage son’s friend, and then they took interviews about it as a family. The joke is Will Smith had to sit…
I don’t really understand the relative success of this game compared to From’s other games (Dark Souls 3 took four years to sell 10 million units). Elden Ring is, for all intents and purposes, Dark Souls 4. Same visuals, same atmosphere, same systems, same mechanics, same pacing. They just added a larger open-world…
No, it’s not “saving humanity itself.”
I do find it really hilarious that people think that the Fireflies, a paramilitary organization operating 20 years after the collapse of society, would have knowledge, technology, equipment, facilities, and supplies necessary to discover, let alone manufacture and distribute, a…
Hard disagree on that hard disagree. It’s obvious that the script was written with the shocking moments/twists in mind, but nobody made an even slightest attempt to properly build up to them.
The game is full of powerful and shocking moments, but the way we get to them is either weak or just plain stupid (e.g. Mel’s…
The same father that was literally begging to murder a little girl in her sleep without an ounce of remorse. All for a chance to possibly, maybe make a vaccine.
Discussion surrounding TLOU2 didn’t come from the fact that people thought it was “just another badass simulator”.
“It’s Shigeru Miyamoto’s beloved child, and we accept there will have to be more Pikmin if there’s to be more of everything else we would rather he were focusing on at Nintendo.”
