There is a reason they even moved the spare on the military version (note: the bonnet mount is still there):

These rust like there is no tomorrow. Other than that, bullet proof.

I didn’t even know Canada used these. Great suggestion. And it uses parts from various Volkswagens and Audi’s (Audi 100 and VW Passat) so parts aren’t that hard to find or expensive.

Because it’s apparently bad for the environment and because Ford doesn’t offer an extended bed I can’t register it as a commercial vehicle in the Netherlands and I have to pay €102K (as a commercial vehicle it’s only €35K). The Supercab wouldn’t be a problem and the Crewcab without back seat would class as a

I want that CJ-5. I really have a weak sport for 4x4's equipped as a tractor. And with that truck cab, it’s just perfect.

But did the kids got to school in the end or not?

Traded a good ‘03 Hyundai Hatchback for a rusty ‘92 truck. I didn’t need a new car (the Hyundai was perfectly fine and boring) I just wanted a truck. A few months after that, I drove behind it on the highway, some old lady was driving it.

The regular Rocky was available as a more normal wagon:

There where versions of the Rocky where you could take the top off and versions where you couldn’t. This one seems to have a top you can take off but a rear door from a version where you couldn’t take the top off.

You have coveralls for different types of weather. And when it’s really too hot you can always cut the sleeves of.

Defenders don’t have airbags. Maybe the new ones will, it’s suppose to be introduced this year.

I live in the Netherlands, where a double cab Ford Ranger without backseat costs €32,000 ($38,000) and the same double cab Ford Ranger with backseat costs €100,000 ($119,218), because of taxes.

Same as my summer car, a 1992 Daihatsu Feroza. I don’t need a special car for 3 days of snow a year. She needs some better tires though

I wanted to take a picture of our local car park with my Feroza and my neighbor’s Defender. But it’s raining right now so it’s no fun at all at the moment.

I once drove my truck on the road, when there was snow and ice on it, on summer tires, in rear wheel drive, with on the radio highway to hell. Those were pretty insane times.

It was the summer of 2008 or 2009, I’m not 100% sure, I have to check the photo’s for that if I could actually find them. I was 12 or 13 back then. I was on holiday with the family on a friends farm in Denmark. It was a great summer with many firsts: my first kis, my first time driving a tractor, my first time

It has something to do with recognition and the owning/driving experience. Jeep can make the best 4x4 ever and call it the Wrangler, but if it doesn’t look like a Wranger it’s 70 year reputation means almost nothing. And it’s probably easier and cheaper for Jeep to make a decent 4x4 that looks like a Wrangler rather

(Not the actual car but almost identical)

Suzuki SJ/Samurai comes to mind.

After an oil change (that was about a year over due) the front crankshaft seal on my ‘92 Daihatsu Feroza (Sportrack/Rocky) started leaking.
