I got screwed by HERE when I went to Canada from the US on Sprint. For some reason, it kept needing to be online to click one stupid setting. I finally had to go into a Timmy’s to get coffee and interwebz at 9PM in scary downtown Montreal (Yeah... so scary... those gorgeous blondes in pretty dresses riding those

I still use my Nexus 7 as a media player in the kitchen, because my wall mount is about 1/8 of an inch too narrow to easily move my 8” tablet in and out of it.

You can get some nice offline GPS apps for Android.

By the time I’m done with a phone, I can get about $30 for the thing in trade, or $50 for it on ebay. It’s not a bad idea to have a backup phone, so I keep my latest, and by the time that one is rotated out, it’s pretty worthless. I mean seriously, how much could I get for a Sprint Galaxy s2, and Evo, or even an Evo

One of the best parts of having an older Android phone is that you have a fair chance of it sporting an SD Micro slot. You can put a 64 or 12 GB card in there and hold TONS of music. You DO need to download an offline GPS app of course, but that’s a piece of cake as well. Plus, there are some nice Car-centric

Just port some Super Meat Boy levels... Sheesh that game is fun, but a real PITA!

Let me tell you, after every other meal costing me a minimum of $20, I wasn’t too proud for La Salsa.

Meh, you can find places that do $1 drink specials. There’s a Mexican restaurant just off the strip in Las Vegas that has a running $1 Bloody Mary deal in the mornings. Not the best BM, but it didn’t absolutely horribly suck. I had 2, and had a slight buzz. It pairs nicely with their $4 breakfast special. (La Salsa,

And my... Dental Dam!

The last desktop tech we had that was female and I got into a conversation. I asked her if she thought the industry was sexist. She did.

Then again, she also was a touchy PITA who wouldn’t even talk to anyone until after 11am, and frequently got into fights with pretty much everyone. Sad too, because she was a GREAT

You realize that white knighting is probably the last thing a woman in tech wants or needs, right?

I was one of the first adopters of e-books, waaaaay back on my Handspring Visor. Never looked back. My sister holds with your camp though. She loved the feel & smell of the book. Me? I just want to consume the stories. :)

My wife doesn’t get that. I have the same issue. I’ll read, and it’ll distract me enough that I can usually get to sleep after 30 minutes or so. I have my tablet set to dark green text on a black background, and it can soothe. But only escapist fiction at that time. Anything else can screw with me.

If I’m reading this right, you spend a lot of time working from your bed. Why don’t you try NOT doing that, and only using it for sex/sleep? Try that for a month and see if it helps. It sounds like you’ve got way too much going on in that bed, and that makes it far too easy to hop in and be distracted by everything.

Don’t be afraid to try different styles of mask on the CPAP. It can make a marked difference. I went from full face to nose pillows, and am now on a Over the nose style. (Will probably try a different over the nose one soon, as this one is close, but not quite there)

Ambien’s side effects freak me out so much that I couldn’t take it. Just had a co-worker describe a meltdown she recently had when her Dr. insisted she use it. (She stopped after her meltdown, and never touched it again)

We’ll have to agree to disagree. The SDs are cool as hell. I’ve thought so since the age of 7 when I saw SWANH on the Big screen (1977).

Wha????? No love for the Star Destroyer?

So I shouldn’t even mention the Z-95 Headhunter? (1st Mentioned in Han Solo: At Star’s End)

It’s nice to have options, Albert... don’t dismiss the love automatically!
