Sprint does this on their data share plans and their individual plans. Unlimited plan for 1 user is $85/mo or $60/mo if you have an unsubsidized phone (aka lease. You pay the lease payment, and get the phone paid off, and the price is $60)

When the phone is unsubsidized, you get a $25/mo price cut per line if you’re on a family plan with 20GB data or more. I believe it’s more substantial if you have a lower data plan as well.

When that level of censorship spreads to sites he does use, it’s actually something he should be worried about. Or butthurt about.
