Just got to rewatching LMOE season 2. Definitely the best season. I must have a DVD even though I have it on Hulu.
People keep saying that, but there's a difference between what Jim wanted and what Henson's kids did.
Beaker is super easy to recast. Statler has apparently been given to Peter Linz. Ernie is also Linz now. Bean Bunny hasn't appeared since Muppets wizard of oz I think. That only leaves Rizzo. He's going to be tough to recast.
Ya. Lips never really said much though. I'm kind-of sad that Steve has left the muppets after nearly 40 years and Lips has barely ever uttered 40 words.
I have a feeling that Steve & Frank were never on good terms. I heard that Frank never wanted to perform Bert without Jim's Ernie. Same with Fozzie. Maybe that's another reason he left the muppets aside from directing.
Interesting read
Well there's that. But for the most part, they've put stuff in development and they've never actually made it past that stage. They're mainly known for cheap kids cartoons.
Did anyone else besides me like the pre-rebooted ABC muppet show? They had a good thing going. Sure it was rough at first, but by like episode 9, I felt it was truly something great. Then they rebooted it and it lost its wit and charm.
He was more of a side character in that, but ya. He also had a small role in Great Muppet Caper.
And they still haven't made that R-rated puppet movie. They essentially inherited a company and have done nothing with it.
Henson's goal was to give them to Disney, yes. But, he also wanted to have full creative control. The Henson children simply sold them and forgot about them.
To be fair, that was only in the 90's. Rizzo did absolutely nothing in the 2011 movie or Muppets Most Wanted
The henson company pretty much does nothing, so I guess they want to be on good terms with Disney. Hence, the smearing of Steve.
Even then, there have been far worse muppet productions.
I want to hear what Dave Goelz has to say (the guy who performed Gonzo), he's worked with steve for 4 decades. He has to say something nice about him.
and this is why Muppets from space sucks
I still want to side with Steve. And did anyone see what Cheryl Henson had to say? Super uncalled for.
Ending is so sad.
Thank god someone reported that Steve was Kermit's puppeteer. I swear, if I see one more article calling him the "voice" of Kermit like he's some animated character.
