Umm... I hate to tell you, but almost every Android phone out there is getting updates through the Play Store. Incremental OS updates are only for gee whiz features these days.

Under no circumstances should you do so until after you’ve removed yourself from iMessage. I highly recommend giving yourself a dead day or two before actually making the transition to make sure it took. It’s THAT much of a pain in the ass if it doesn’t go 100% perfect.

I still disagree that looking at your phone is necessarily more convenient than putting my finger on the back of my Android phone. Thing is, you have a better chance of someone in your family having a face close enough to yours to unlock the phone vs. having a fingerprint close enough. There’s probably someone out there with a close enough fingerprint, but who knows who they are? That adds some security through obscurity to the equation.
