Maybach should be making cars like this (see below), rather than a tarted up S class. True, they won’t sell many, but isn’t that kind of the point of “exclusivity”? Not saying it’s not a Mercedes underneath, but it doesn’t look like any Mercedes you can buy.

“Death Whistle” would be an awesome name for a band of flautists that play nothing but heavy metal covers.

This is essentially a BMW which means a step up in materials, fit and finish, etc. You may not appreciate it, but it is a significant factor for many. It isn’t all about numbers. This may compete more with Caymens and the like I’ve driven new Mustangs and new BMW’s and they are very different places spend time.

Hey man, you should be going to MIT or something.

And if you can’t drive to work, you can’t get paid.

Maybe I am just getting old*, but to me $400 is the line where a payment gets expensive. I don’t know how people do the average monthly payments new cars command nowadays.

*old = turning 40 in 1.5 months and the only new car I have ever owned was a 2007 Mazda3. But I am aiming to semi-retire in ~4 years so maybe I am

He did say “please” first. Threatening death is just the next step from being polite.

...so what about the Dacia Sandero, then?

I would hope that teams are hiring their reserve drivers on the basis that they're capable of driving the damn car.

re: Neutral. I’m doing okay. Confirmed that i’ll be working form home till September which honestly, is fine with me. I was spending $3-400 a month on gas and parking so that’s all money saved. I have been spending more and more time on Autotrader considering a cheap convertible for summer - we have to find our joys

The over-the-shoulder drivers eye view is my favourite camera position for conveying the speed and skittishness of on the limit driving. They use it from time to time in the F1 converge too and it looks so sweet. Makes me sad that for an entertainment brand F1 has done so little to invest in the quality of its TV

This thing looks as stock as possible. What is in poor taste? If you want a stretch limo, this doesn’t look like a bad candidate.

They don’t look great, but I don’t mind them terribly. The only cars that have curtains are super high end chauffeur driven. Open them or with tinted windows I’m sure it doesn’t look too bad.

FCA is gonna be soooo pissed when the Bronco can do a full barrel roll.

I am no expert, but have leased a few cars, several years ago. The dealer has to take it back, I realize maybe some are saying they won’t, but they are supposed to.

Isn’t it ironic that people who want to go back to normal without thinking are the same ones - in many cases - who slowed the first response by claiming it a hoax and delaying critical controls to stop the first round of spread.

The truck segment sales leadership speaks to the uneven smack down of COVID where higher income knowledge workers are humming along with no financial change other than lowered expenses because they can’t go out to eat, or drink, or travel, or hit the salon/yoga studio/gym, etc.
