I think the only safety requirement was to be safer than a moped / motorcycle. Which I’m pretty sure it is, if you crash.

I agree. The car looks great in the promo, and it will probably drive great when it is finally released. Why are people complaining before the car is even fully revealed?

Ummm... I’ve been forced to stop at a Yield sign before, many times. You’re not ‘required’ to make a full stop, but you do have to yield, which sometimes means you’re going to have to stop.
You may or may not agree (probably the latter) but their SUV / crossover doesn’t look bad.
I’m not saying it’s a great design - it’s OK, but young buyers (who are the target demographic for those cars) seem to love it. If you squint, it looks like a mini S-class.
