Finland doesn’t have Common Core, they have something completely different, a “Core Curriculum.”

Most ‘Murica would be a conversion to coal-powered with twin smoke stacks into the exhaust of which the King of Jordan would occasionally stick his head!

Watched the winter video. Two observations:

Hillary doesn’t want to harm a hair on his head after Election Day. Trump is the Republican candidate she wants most. He splits his party and will drive droves of Democrats to the polls.

OK - you didn’t say regime change. So then what are you advocating? You would be okay with the Castro regime remaining in power if became a multi-party democracy?

The motorcade is pretty typical of a Presidential motorcade, the limo, the back-up limo, the SUVs for the counter-assault team, the SUVs/buses for staff/guests. When he is in NYC, it’s usually preceded by an NYPD motorcade, and followed by an ambulance, and NYPD cruisers.

You want regime change? How does that happened without war when a total embargo and no diplomatic relations for 50 odd years has not. Consider especially the last 25 years when the Castro regime has managed to survive even though its chief benefactor collapsed.

Finally - appropriate use. Bravo!

Been there, done that!

I would tend to agree with you. Both the US and Russia want to be the one to call the shots, so there’s mutual exclusivity in them being in the same alliance. The Europeans are happy to have someone else make the call. The Europeans prefer the US (belong all of the soft - cultural reasons) because the US typically

India already feels it got burned on the Admiral Gorshkov acquisition (initially $800M [excluding aircraft/weapons) before increasing to over $2.35B) and the current Sukhoi/HAL FGFA project. Investing money in another Russian-led development project would be looked at with a leery eye.

It will be cheaper for Russia to built a new Alfa than it would be for the US to build an equivalent (due into part of bureaucratic overhead).

The invisible hand of the market is cutting US production at lot faster than any further government imposition. As long as a barrel of oil is south of $40, extraction in the petroleum shales will not make economic sense.

Finally get to roll out my Winston Churchill quote. He was, among other things, a gentleman farmer, and he said, “I like pigs; cats look down on you; dogs look up at you; but pigs treat you as their equal.”

The Arsenal Ship was dependent on other assets for targeting, missile guidance, and defense. Having it sail in company with an Burke that could provide those would negate the arsenal ship’s stealth qualities. I think having one ship with 500 missiles seem like having too many eggs in a single basket.

While the Yamato absorbed a lot of damage, it’s a poor example as it never got into range to use it’s 18.1" guns against the American beach heads.
