Thanks for covering this story. I miss Deadspin terribly; it was my first stop on the internet in the morning and my entree to the GMG universe, from which I found its sister sites. It’s nice to read a sports adjacent story with the trademark GMG/Deadspin we-love-sports-but-screw-the-NFL-for-being-sanctimonious-jerks

Oh, Shit. They got Barry!

This is weirdly and deeply poignant (I’m sure it was meant to be.)

This is such an earnest response.

Ok, but for real, the vendor guy definitely just hit the “7" by accident, right? He was trying to charge $24, which would almost certainly have skated under the radar, and accidentally added a number that made the whole thing noticeable. Otherwise, lets say he pulls charges 1-2 beers every 15 minutes for a 4 hour

Down in the grays, here, but I wanted to say thank you for a carefully research, well written, even elegant take down of Gladwell’s book, and I’m glad Deadspin exists to provide a platform to refute, in unhurried fashion, Gladwell’s jackass pop psychology.

You must be so erect right now.

Thank you for this. It’s pretty remarkable that across the entire PSU chain of command, there was apparently no one correctly positioned to be able to report, you know, child rape.

I agree with what this guy said.

Or would be, anyway, if you were facing any team other than the Orioles.

I’ve read that at least 4 times and I’m still not entirely sure what it means, but I’m kinda laughing at it anyway because I’m pretty sure it’s making fun of Lena Dunham and I’m fine with that.

Gosh, if only that information was in the article somewhere, like maybe in the first sentence of the second paragraph.

Oooh. The Dead Letters on this one are going to be AMAZING.

“Tampontreal” is magnificent.

This is beautifully, marvelously correct.

I have no idea what this means but it’s obviously grade-A bile and I’m here for that.

As a Baltimore fan, I look at this and I just feel... sad. Like, we, the collective city of Baltimore, would be contented with sub-mediocrity, and deliriously happy with a record like the Rays have put together. Meanwhile, our beautiful ballpark, which really does deserve better than the nightly abortion of a baseball

So, like, what happens to the players when something like this happens? I assume that there are incentives for the players if they’d been promoted, and now instead they’re down to the Italian Football equivalent of single-A ball. Do they have any recourse? Does it actually make any difference to them the level at

Starred for “more deadlier”.
