Thing here though that surely any decent prosecutor would inevitably raise is “here’s bodycam footage from 12th August where you actively tried to stop police charging her with an offence because of your love for her, why only two weeks later were you taking her van halfway across the country and then refusing to help

Assumptions don’t do anybody any good.

You’d probably see the in-debt homeowner siting in front of their burned down insured house reeking of petrol and an opening box of matches in their hand and go “hmm, well we didn’t actually see him light it, could’ve been anyone I suppose” wouldn’t you...

Yeah it depressingly doesn’t sound baffling at all quite frankly. There’s no reason whatsoever for the boyfriend to stay silent unless there’s something that would incriminate him in some way and the lawyer’s excuse is obvious BS.

Maybe the dude knows where all the bodies are buried.

The US isn’t exactly a shining example of extraditing it’s citizens to other countries to face legal charges.

I can’t help but laugh at this:

I was none to impressed with AOC being at this event hosted by a “colonial broad”, but whatever. She attracted a lot of attention to an issue that needs it.”

She went to a fancy party. She wore a fancy party dress with a message that “attracted a lot of attention to an issue that needs it

The dress is a red herring. The hypocrisy is in spending the night playing grab-ass with millionaire celebs, thinking a photo-op dress exempts her from criticism.

All-or-nothing thinking is a hallmark of PTSD, so...makes sense, really.

She’s been though a lot and probably needs to talk to someone instead of airing every thought online. At this point she is her own worst enemy.

I’m not a psychologist, and I’ve never met Rose McGowan, so this is a super useful take, but:  I wonder if she learned to process her trauma by attacking Weinstein, and now that he’s in jail and has no career, she doesn’t have any way to process her trauma any more, hence her lashing out at anyone with even the most

That’s nice, but it really doesn’t carry any water with me.

That’s something I’ve seen too - in this case, though, I think there’s also a kind of “ressentiment” at work - Gowan (and others like her) are frustrated they don’t receive the validation and accolades they feel they deserve from the kind of people they want, and so they lash out by loudly embracing values that are a

Ensemble show!

What exactly was Malia Obama “in on”, Rose?

I don’t know Rose McGowan and am not qualified to comment on her experiences. But over my own journey in life I have encountered a few individuals who cite personal trauma as the reason they became Republicans. Not conservatives in the classic sense, but acolytes of the modern GOP. The reasons seem to be similar to

where she worked before the allegations emerged, McGowan said: “They’re all in on it.”

Rose McGowan, once a leading voice for the film industry’s MeToo movement, disavowed Hollywood and the Democratic Party on Sunday night during a stump speech for Larry Elder, a Republican frontrunner in an election to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Isn’t that the justification behind the majority of non-obscenely-rich people voting Republican (or indeed any right-wing populist movement in the world)?

She’s hurt so she’s going to make sure everyone else does too.
