I got Woodland Critter Christmas vibes, myself.

Tituss Burgess's delivery is fucking incredible. What a great find by Fey/Carlock. He really gels perfectly with their comic sensibilities.

I think Tina is probably the first to admit she isn't an amazing actress, but yeah, when she writes for herself she's great.

I said this in the binge review but Kimmy's happy place cartoon is probably the season's biggest "this couldn't have aired on NBC" moment, right?

I kind of wonder what the episodes would've been like if they had been in S2, now that the show is allowed/wiling to go a little darker. It felt like they were trying to make him extra kooky just to ease the tension but it just made it all more uncomfortable to me.

Exactly. I mean sure, Beyonce profits from a shitty system but so does like, everything else. Why do you draw the line at her?

Are you saying that no one ever tries to claim that Hollywood blockbusters make "major statements" or are "important"? Did you miss all of the Mad Max: Fury Road or Hunger Games thinkpieces? (I know I used Marvel movies as an example but any Hollywood blockbuster can do.)

Definite improvement on the past few episodes, though I still think the show could stand to experiment a bit more with its concept.

Didn't they announce one years ago? Like, after Season 3 or something? And then we just never heard about it again.

Yeah that was weird. It was like the idea killed at the initial pitch but then they realized there weren't any stories to wring from it.

Netflix shows get *three* sets of reviewers now: the pre-air review, the binge review, and the episode-by-episode reviews.

I watched the video claiming she steals jokes and I wasn't totally convinced. They just seemed like similar, slightly generic bits.

The Hamilton sketch was really bad - it was one of those "here are two people you guys seem to like, there's not actually any jokes but look at these two cool famous people interacting!!!!" sketches, which is maybe my least favorite kind of comedy in the entire world.

I kind of want a job as a Dream Ghost.

I'd go 3 > 4 > 1 > 2> To me S2 felt like a bit of a retread of S1, but in S3 they kicked it into high gear.

Yes!! This is what I was hoping for. Pretty bummed we just got a rehashed romance plot.

Also Aisha Tyler is basically the only prominent black character on the entire 10-season run of that show.

The second half of S2 is the best run of the show yet.

"Helmet" was a great episode but I still find the Sam arc painful and the decision to seemingly just repeat the plotline of S2 really, really confusing.

Romantic Moments reminds me a lot of Community's Gravity mash-up.
