GUYS READ THIS THING I WROTE http://splitsider.com/2016/… It's my first accepted freelance pitch so I'm pretty excited about it!
SNL is pretty close this season, too.
It's been renewed through Season 5.
Empire got about 11 million viewers last night and gets around 17 million when all DVR numbers are factored in, which is big especially for this depressed climate but is still different than 30 million people tuning in live every week. We still have big shows, but even they feel niche compared to something like Idol…
Both shows film in Brooklyn/NYC so it'd make sense. They definitely look identical.
Yeah her Season 3 arc seems rather pointless now. Still, her death in this episode was so well-done that I'm willing to forgive it.
To me it comes down to this: policy-wise Cruz is worse than Trump but he doesn't drum up the same terrifying fervor that Trump does. Cruz appeals to a small group of people and anyone else backing him is just doing so because he's the only real Republican alternative to Trump. Trump is finding a special way to tap…
I think Bevers can be fun but they overused him in S1 so I think it's good that his appearances have been measured since then. I would like at least one appearance this season though.
No.
Nah, B+ sounds about right. I would've liked a little more exploring in Abbi's hometown but this was still a lot of fun.
Yeah I mean the only options are Ilana keeps it and is a single mom (not happening), has a miscarriage (absolutely not) or has an abortion (as progressive as the show is I don't think they'd go down that route.)
Can't remember specifically but there was definitely a line about it, I wanna say maybe the episode with Ilana's mom?
I have the same feelings on Hillary as you do but I don't fully understand not voting for her in the general. Would you rather have Trump?
They don't write every episode and I don't think they've ever directed.
Real-life Ilana Wexler would 100% support Bernie (she has an Occupy sticker!) but whatever, I could also see her loving Hillary and the episode was funny enough that I don't really care.
It seemed more akin to the millennial attitude towards Hillary about a year ago, when she had just announced her candidacy and Bernie wasn't a thing yet. Since they write the episodes pretty far in advance, I wonder if that's why it kind of feels like that.
Okay but…they are definitely a little bit critical of Ilana. It's not a major part of the show but it's there. Abbi's "sometimes you're so not racist that you're actually really racist" from back in S1 comes to mind. And I do agree there's been a bit more of it this season.
Also Alan Alda and Rachel Dratch!
