There's a bunch of better Fargo scenes, I think. I'd probably pick the time jump for that show, or the whiteout.

I love the theme song! I don't mind it being long. All theme songs used to be that long!

I'm going slow with OITNB right now but…holy shit that fourth episode.

No spoilers since I'm not sure how far you are, but I'm finding Piper much more enjoyable this year so far.

…Why would the male guards be walking around naked?

Prepon will be back in Season 3, apparently. I was worried that her absence would negatively affect the season because I figured the writers didn't plan on it, but now I'm wondering if it's *because* the writers planned on it. It seems so natural.

I think this season is, like most second seasons, more about digging deeper into the people and the world that's been created and getting to the root of them. Which I think is a good thing. I'm glad they aren't just giving us a repeat of Season 1 - they're trying to hatch out new territory and discoveries about these

I only watched 3 today, but I've really liked all of them. It's early but so far I think it's at least on par with Season 1, and if the story developments pan out well it could wind up being better. I was weirdly worried the show would crash and burn this year so I'm very happy.

I've always figured the ads are what allows Hulu to be up-to-date episode wise, which does give it leverage over Netflix and Amazon in that respect.

Exactly. She's, more or less, the complete antithesis of the entire "American dream" theory.

That's been a problem with Netflix in general and was a *huge* problem with AD Season 4. I get that showrunners are always complaining about time limits on their shows and how much winds up on the cutting room floor but sometimes, it's not a completely bad thing. (I haven't noticed it with OITNB yet though - I feel

Right, with the exception of her de facto drug dealer mother. I'm very interested to see that dynamic play out.

Yeah, as I was saying below, I think Taystee is really the most powerful character on the show in some ways.

Taystee's storyline is so heartbreaking. She has charisma, ambition, talent…she could be doing so well for herself if someone would just give her a fucking chance. That's probably true of plenty of the inmates, but she genuinely seems to want someone to see how much potential she has and no one has ever cared enough

It's at least worth a shot. If you like it, you'll love it. If not, at least you tried. It's worth a watch because it's portraying a lot of things you'd never find anywhere else in pop culture.

It's far better than anything else Netflix has put forth, and really the only one that has figured out how to utilize that business model. It's easily one of the best shows on TV right now, in my opinion.

That's why it's hard for me to tell. But there's people I know who watch this show that typically only watch, like…CBS procedurals and the like. It feels bigger to me than a lot of other "big" TV dramas.

Yeah, I thought the premiere was pretty fantastic. It was the kind of thing that wouldn't have worked at all if this was a traditional TV show and that was all we were getting, but as a re-introduction to Piper's story I thought it was great and really compelling.

It's definitely the type of episode that would piss off a lot of people if it were a regular TV show and that was all we got for the premiere. But I loved it.

I sort of wonder how the ratings for OITNB would be if it they were released/if it was on a network. It feels like EVERYONE I know watches this show.
