Been playing Tropico 4. As city-builders go it's relatively easy but there's something so enjoyable about raising peoples' standard of living.

That'd actually been on my mind a few weeks ago. Kinda came to the conclusion that if there isn't an afterlife of some sort (which I believe there to be), the whole 'eternal rest' thing actually doesn't sound so bad.
It used to freak me out thinking about my 'self' being gone, but if I think about the seemingly hokey

If you're reading this: GET OUT OF THE COMMENTS SECTION WHILE YOU STILL CAN

I normally don't have too much of an issue with CGI, particularly in action movies like this. It's like a resigned acceptance that everything except the characters standing, walking, and maybe running will be computer generated.

I really need to get my day started but since Discus chopped off half the comments section when I first checked in, I've prioritized reading through them properly now that they're back.

Metallica - Sad But True
Municipal Waste - Thrashin' of the Christ
Power Trip - Heretic's Fork
Boosie Badazz - On Deck
Waka Flocka Flame - Slippin'

This is the reason I stopped caring about Yelp. It's like look, is this another dime-a-dozen Thai place or not? I don't need to hear your witty comments about all the college students who frequent it!

The pack-in mouse for my PC did that and it made working absolutely infuriating. It doesn't *sound* like much of a problem, more of a minor annoyance, but ask those IT guys to give it a try for an hour and see if they change their mind.

Not a recent development but a few weeks ago my friends ordered that Pizza Hut hotdog-crust pizza for our usual wrestling PPV party. I explicitly did not pitch in because I wasn't sure how much it'd screw with the rest of the pizza. As it turns out everyone hated it. I took the uneaten slices (about half the pizza),

It's quite distressing to keep hearing school-finance problems from you week after week. For some reason financial aid is always an inexplicable mess but you seem to have been fucked 50 different ways by some pretty incompetent people. Hope things get sorted out by school's start!

This just made me realize how much I miss Bernie Mac…

My concerns probably stem from being one of the "More adventurin', less shippin'" folks back when both shows were starting to branch out. I wish I could get past it though 'cause I loved what was going on with a lot of the other characters in their respective shows like Marceline & Skipps. AT in particular simply may

I'm in a weird position with Cartoon Network's shows at the moment, liking the shows I thought I'd hate (Clarence, Goddamn *Uncle Grandpa*) and falling out of the shows I used to like (Adventure Time, Regular Show).

I became an uncle last week and it's really great seeing my family step into a new phase of their lives. My brother and his wife just last year bought a house in anticipation of raising a family and he's moving up at the utility company he works for. At the same time our parents are weeks away from effective

Absolutely. The AV Club, of all places, is the only wrestling forum I can stand.

Some assholes have this weird mindset that taking off of work for anything means you're personally weak; like, it's a mark of strength to handle things *and* work through it all.

Everyone recovering from this episode needs to see this.

Half the trouble of using checks is finding out who accepts them. Even if they do, it seems to be the biggest inconvenience for everyone involved. They're a contingency only, to be sure.

Most institutions are replacing magnetic-strip cards with chip-cards this year; I had my old debit card deactivated and the new one sent to my permanent address 250 miles away. I survived on *checks* for 2 weeks.

Normally don't read novels, but I got through a few chapters of 'The Hunt for Red October' during the 12 hour car ride to Kansas City and back. For some reason I had presumed the entire book would take place from Ramius' perspective, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the not-on-a-submarine stuff so far.
