The problem with these estimates are they are pulled out of thin air and have little actual backing. We don’t actually know one way or the other. No credible studies have been done and data is not collected in a way to enable credible studies to be done.

Yes, pretty much everyone I’ve known who was accused was innocent. Charges of a sexual nature are routinely used to try to win fully custody of children in messy divorces and by disgruntled female employees trying to get payback and/or a big cash payout.

Having been on the wrong end of three false harassment charges over the years, false reports are far more common than you’d think. In my case, all three cases were easily disproven and in two of them, the person who assisted in disproving the claims was a woman who knew the claims to be false.
