Genuinely bummed out about this. Spend a fair amount of time on the music and various movie/tv show boards. I can't say I agree with some of the people here regarding Dixon ("good writer, but…"), at least with regard to his Batman stuff. Personally, I find the mid-to-late 90s Batman comics to be pretty dull, and Dixon was definitely a part of that. I much preferred to Animated Series tie-in comics to the "proper" Batman

The Communion alien terrified me as a kid, too. And we definitely weren't the only ones!

Saucer Country was great, glad to hear it's coming back. I particularly loved that issue where we get a history of UFO and alien encounters.

The first two Supergrass albums, and maybe even some Super Furry Animals, though I may be stretching the "Britpop" definition there. Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers fit well in the Britpop era too, even though the band themselves were definitely outside it.

Modern Life is Rubbish is still my favourite Blur album overall, with Parklife and the s/t coming close behind. There are moments of brilliance on all the albums, but some are considerably patchy.
