Technically the Volt isn't a standard Hybrid. The motor in there acts as a generator, it doesn't drive the wheels. I'm not saying it's any better (especially since a diesel generator is more efficient... ), I'm just saying it's a bit different.

You haven't seen the "Electrid Drive" cars and Fuel Cell Benzes? A lot of the plug-ins are very much in your face about how green they are. Moreso than the GM hybrids.
I imagine that's what all 228 comments on this post say, because you totally forgot about Tesla.

Hahahah, Canada. That's so cute.
Fiat Chrysler has no fucking clue what it's doing does it?
Correct on all counts.
Did GM mess up on this issue? Yes. Do they have some explaining to do on this issue? Yes. Is GM incompetent? No chance. Slapping a big generic label over an entire company really doesn't accomplish much of anything.
Not to be overly pedantic, but the Volt isn't a hybrid. Hybrids can be powered 100% by either their electric motors or ICE, whereas the Volt runs 30-40 miles all on electric motors, then uses the ICE to charge them as they deplete.
