Vimeo and you are right about hating it for so many other reasons as well

When do people realise they shouldn’t use Vimeo for anything. The video looks great until I hit these streaming issues and stopped watching because it’s super annoying ):

Modern GPU’s can do integer and double precision float calculations just fine though. Double is like 4x slower than single but it’s still pretty fast compared to doing the same on CPU. Massive parallelism, memory bandwidth & micro-threading for latency hiding is what blows CPU’s out of the water.

$10k for the trip, $90k for the weed. You don’t expect him just to go window shopping to the hidden Mayan weed-shop now do you?

Because storing collapsible chairs on a wall consumes so much space and has that unnecessary feature of being able to move them around?

There’s compulsory education pretty much in every civilized country.

That, and because fairies keep farting on the sensors at nights.

Last time I checked couple of years ago Bitcoin mining has gone from CPU -> GPU -> FPGA -> ASIC mining .. so unless you have dedicated ASIC hardware for mining it’s not worth the electricity. And if you plan to buy ASIC mining HW you will find out that it’s always backlog orders for any HW that’s able to make the

Probably nothing it would carry with itself as that would make it too heavy and impossible to reach the 20% of the speed of light. But maybe the radiation from the stars at Alpha Centauri could be used for power. Or use a beam from Earth for communication somehow.

If helicopter was invented today, it would probably be called hoverplane or something.

It depends from which side x approaches zero for 1/x if the equation approaches infinity. If x approaches zero from negative or positive side it approaches -infinity or +infinity respectively, thus 1/0 is undefined.

It’s much more interesting to see how a rat finds its way in a maze

I think he has great talent in explaining complex ideas to common folks. I wish I had the same talent to explain so eloquently my own work to my managers, etc. It’s not quite as easy as it seems when you are knee deep in the nitty-gritty details to pull back and explain things in such a simplified dumped down way that

As someone who has actually developed for Kinect, I can tell you this whole thing is a fake. I worked on XB1 Kinect which is much better than 360 version these guys are “using” and even the XB1 version couldn’t capture these details at that distance in its 512×424 resolution. Think about it for a second.

It’s fake plus they would have done much better job with photogrammetry

Said nothing about who did it. Learn to read

Looks like a simple Photoshop warp done in two secs when comparing the two images. Everything is warped, background, chair, etc.
