No. I grew up poor. Poor comes in all races. I dislike poor white people who are racist and xenophobic because they blame everyone else for their problems. Clearly this country treats poor white people differently than poor PoC. Have you read the article you are commenting on?

My dad went to school, but my mom’s side of the family is still in Appalachia, still being mad about there being no coal jobs, and faulting me because I worked full time and went to school, and then moved to get better jobs, and went to job training for certificates in new programming languages and then a Masters…

I’m curious if you listen to the podcast Embedded? They recently did a story about the “war on coal” and followed people in Appalachia for over a year after Trump got elected. It was enlightening to say the least. Here in Minnesota I think it’s kind of a similar thing in the iron range counties that flipped from Obama…

Rural Ohio is really quite beautiful. Especially the southeastern region down by Athens. But the people are just...bad.

Sounds like where I grew up. The reason I’m poor and unemployed is because all these other people/groups are holding me down. The reason that black person is poor and unemployed is because they’re too lazy to use the bootstraps god gave them.
