You had me at Dafoe channeling Captain McCallister....I can only hope there’s an appropriate sea chantey tie in...

You still can!

Now playing

Ok, I’ll bite, since noone else has posted this.

...remembered as the decade of snark, a period where being smart and funny also meant being witheringly condescending towards everyone and everything that wasn’t in on the joke.

Wait, wait. This implies the sketches that do get accepted made the table-read laugh. I find this hard to believe.

I rewatched it this year and a couple of things stood out to me. It was the first thing I had ever seen Emma Stone in and she does her best with what she’s given but there’s not a lot there. And the jokes are infrequent and not that funny.

Hot damn. That is one sexy piece of hardware.

A reminder that the people in charge of The CIA’s torture program are now at the top of government and private enterprises.

Fifth, did you know that future Veronica Mars star Jason Dohring plays Eddie in human form before he gets turned into a dog?

And that boy grew up to be, yep, you guessed it....Frank Stallone.

Like really, couldn’t they just bring AP Bio back?

Seriously. As a pretty far left progressive, this shit drives me absolutely insane. Not everything bad that happens to POC (or women, LGBTQ, or any other marginalized group) is because they’re POC.

I didn’t like it, and I won’t miss it. Maybe it was a little unfair to have this follow something like The Good Place, but it was about one-sixty-fourth as funny. Kal Penn was annoying on a Josh Gad level, and half the spontaneous things the rich siblings said made no sense.

I’m sure the indigenous peoples of America are happy to have their slow, agonising genocide and loss of home put on the same level as the cancellation of a sitcom.

this was one of the worst shows i’ve seen since i can remember and to see the cast of ‘haha, old, sad ethnic stereotypes are hilarious!: The Show’ try and claim their cancellation is some sort of loss to culture is ridiculous.

perhaps, given time, they could have moved past the issues they set up, but the entire setup

Granted, the man is a genius but the balloon boy stuff was stupid

This is the most Irish thing I've ever seen.  I salute this man's taste in comedy, godspeed.

Didn’t the kid drop the dime on the dad on live television?

I have heard of it and can confirm that it is.

When you say “humanity remains captivated by the 2009 saga of Balloon Boy” I think what you really mean is that everyone made a collective effort to forget about this incident as soon as it ended.
