I’m an Indianapolis native who now lives in Austin, and I’ve been to many races-Indy 500, WEC, F1, Indycar, PWC, etc. I went to the 24 this past weekend in Daytona, and it was FANTASTIC. Highly, highly recommend a trip for any racing fan.

That’s exactly what I did. Paid the extra $95 for the lights because they look SUPER PRO

I’m a radiation oncologist who sees (mostly) adult patients, and I feel the exact same way.

oh no whatever will I do

The tweets were racist, full stop. You don’t get to redefine a word and lambaste those of us who refuse to go along with your new definition. Those tweets showed, consistently, a desire to cause harm to a specific population based on the color of their skin. You can come up with whatever bullshit you want about “power

I’m really sorry to hear about your mom and hope all goes well.

I ran at the last track day ever at TWS on the full course. Was a seriously sad moment- some guys had met their SOs there, had been running there for years, etc. Not all eyes were dry. I was only able to drive on it twice unfortunately, but absolutely loved it. Such a big loss for Central Texas.

Fortunately there are many bike companies making great bikes right now. Full suspension design and geometry continues to dramatically improve, and if you don’t have a dropper seat on your current bike it’s going to blow you away. Huge improvement. Santa Cruz, Yeti, Evil, YT, Pivot, Scott all make great bikes.

If you eventually get more into mtb again, seriously look into a new bike. The improvements over the last few years have been huge.

Turbo Miata chump/WRL car. Rerouting wiring that melted during the last race, adding wilwood big brake kit, swapping out stock bumper, fixing speedo cable, replacing AFR sensor (see melting), adding ducting for brakes. Finally were able to keep it cool enough for the race two weeks ago for it to run the whole time-

Saw one of those running at the last ever (booooooooooooooo) Texas World Speedway full-course track day this past Sunday.

Try getting an elective knee replacement, though

Are we supposed to be getting our health economic information now from Deadspin? Will The Economist take over sports reporting? This isn’t even a link to another Gawker site, it’s directly on Deadspin. Just because Peter King said something about healthcare doesn’t mean we need to know what Deadspin thinks about it.

Wakeskating. It looks like a wakeskate or wakesurf board, as he didn’t have any bindings to come out of. I wouldn’t have made a big deal out of it, but you guys are a sports website...

    That’s pretty impressive gatekeeping there.

No Indycar champ has been given a competitive ride the year following a championship in the Indycar series. I agree with Rahal that Dixon would be very, very competitive.

Wrangler has to be on the list. Obvious choice but for a reason.

Between this and the Vulcans getting ready for their COTA run on Monday it was quite the interesting HPDE day on Sunday.

I drove the Chin event at COTA Sunday, and they’re no longer letting people hang out on the hot pit wall by the track. Stopped a few weeks ago- I guess they got tired of policing it, people were bring stuff out there and leaving it, etc. Bummer, though.

Justin’s on our ChumpCar team! We were the team testing the Eagle Talon on the track. Yes, the car that threw a rod while you were there. Hopefully Justin won’t have to use his newfound spinning talent on the track...once (not going with ‘if’ just yet) we get a car running consistently.
