It was not default in Maverick either, but it is still there. You just need to install Compiz Settings Manager (look for it in the Software Center) and enable Wobbly Windows.

Does Android use push by default for mail and calendar notifications? I usually have sync and mobile data disabled and only turn them on every half an hour with Tasker, in order to save battery life.

It works great on my Milestone. On a side note, the idea of downloading an app to raise my resolution reminded me of this: [www.downloadmoreram.com]

@Dauthi: I guess you're right, I had few contacts with Vista and Seven and my mindset is still set on how XP works. I It's just that this anectode made me think about how we sometimes mistake familiarity for usability.

On the other hand, it IS counterintuitive.

@food_science: Look for SMS Backup & Restore in the Market. It's a free app. You could backup your texts before deleting them all, and restore them back if performance doesn't improve.

Even if there was no charitable intent I would have bought this to support cross-platform gaming.

Are you sure this actually works? I tried it on my Eee with Ubuntu and didn't notice and improvement in battery life.

I installed all of them from Ubuntu Tweak. The windows and control themes are nice, and some of the icon sets are truly spectacular.

@Marand: I don't think I've ever read the phrase "the year on Linux on desktop" on anything but a sarcastic remark. Where did it even come from?

Why is Jolicloud Linux-based and not just Linux? Also, I can't find any source for it being based on Debian or Fedora - I just assumed it was based on Ubuntu, and it certainly looks that way.
