It was very high sci-fi...combined with being made after 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s a decent film but the pace is very ploddingly slow. The dialogue is clunky. The effects do not hold up.
Maybe something that didn’t look like a cheap plastic toy...?

Good as it is to see Michael Chiklis again (He and Chris Evans were the only good things about the 2000s Fantastic Four movies.) that “scythe” on his hand looks like something from a Spirit Halloween shop. Cheap plastic crap. I imagine they’ll fix it up with effects or something but yeesh.

Most of the people who use the term would have been called bisexual in the past. Most actual gay people I know (ie, the ones who were targeted with this slur in the first place) don’t use it as much.
