With a name like "SnowPiercer", the train itself should be equipped with a rotary snowplow.

Looks like a bitch to clean.

Nice pic!

Blessed by IO9 and our Lady Charlie Jane for suffering through this so we don't have to.

When I become a supervillain, I am so using that last poster as my logo.

I think people let their defenses down when descending. The book "Deep Survival" talked about this when discussing some accidents and it matches my experience. "WOO! WE MADE IT! Okay, now we just have to get back, that's easy." Part of your brain stops being hypervigilant.

Go where the testing facilities are more awesome.

I'm actually surprised the rates for deaths while descending aren't closer to the ascent deaths or even more than - you figure that's when people are more tired and stupider (thanks to more time in low oxygen environments).

Yeah - I couldn't remember if the site was called TWoP or MBTV at the time. But I remember reading about it when the episode aired.

This is delightful!

I think West Wing touched on it with the "Lemon Lyman" blog episode. (mostly WW snarking at MightyBigTV)

HEY GUYS IF WE HAVE A NEW NEW WAVE, WILL HARLAN FINALLY PUBLISH THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS?

Honestly, the thing that makes me squee most about this trailer is Ellen McLain. The rest of it is awesome, but I've imprinted so hard on all her work for Valve that it's like a brainstem reaction. Maybe I'm just really really jonesing for Half Life 2: Episode Three?

Needs more Ellen McLain.

So, this is the Barsoomian 9th ray, right?

You forgot "AFTER THE ROBOT-HUMAN WARS" and "THERE'S THIS GIRLS' SCHOOL"

TINY PINK NOSES!

I have seen this movie! It played at the Boston SciFi Film Festival this past Feb. It's almost great. I say almost because one bit of plot was so staggeringly creepy-sexual-predator soaked that it really put me off part of the movie. Which is a shame because the rest of it is fabulous and fun and completely

Oh God, Helen Mirren kicking ass. There is nothing better.
