When I was in northeast Brazil, there was no hot water option. I think it’s a Brazil-wide thing, not a shoddily built hotel thing.

I had a morning news show on in the background a few days ago and they were doing the obligatory “road to the olympics” segment. They were talking about a local company who are rushing to finish and ship off new high-tech outfits for the US rowing team. Everyone is working super hard and extra hours and we gotta get…
The contractor sighed, and hauled out the ancient cliche. “Good, fast, cheap. You can’t have all three, so pick two.”
Kitchen sink: [falls off, shatters]
It’s in the media village, so they clearly did their research and discovered zero is the number of condoms most reporters will need.
Apologies! This is my baseline for interacting with the world:
I was a Bernie supporter, now a Hillary supporter, whether I like it or not. I don’t understand Rothkopf’s derision re Bernie supporters, as if we/they are all a bunch of hick doofus bros with weed stuck in our nostrils. We/some-of-they are not stupid, and probably more politically educated than Rothkopf, tbh. PS-…
The remaining holdouts are going to be just as statistically insignificant as the PUMAs for McCain in 2008. There are bitter cranks in every election and it’s a little silly we’re hyperventilating about them so much this time around.
I don't think Bernie can take credit for progressives hating Hillary. That kind of goes with being progressive.
Also, in that last gif...is that where he said he’d be dating her if she weren’t his daughter? What with that laugh of hers? “Oh, dear, my dad wants to fuck me... what are you going to do? That’s LIFE WITH DONALD!”
With that kind of attitude from Rio’s mayor, I doubt that Australia, the UK, or New Zealand will share their common wealth with him.
More gaslighting from the reichwingers— they also call women’s issues “distractions”, or “special interests”, as if we weren’t 50% of the population.
Not gullible. Passive aggressive gaslighters.
Really. And who the fuck doesn’t just apologize or try to play it off on the sly like, “Terribly sorry, I forgot I had it opened because I was paying attention to your address.”
I took it as him throwing shade. It becomes apparent when juxtaposed with his briefing on terrorism.
“Did you catch your Pokeman thing? No? Oh I’m so sorry. I’m just up here dealing with some pretty serious terrorists up here.”
“Mr. Trump, are you playing Pokemon Go?”
Gentlemen, you can’t fight here. This is the war room.
I think there may not be a conflict in our two assertions. One thing I seem to remember about hunter-gatherer societies is that they were not huge. When you live in a smallish, relatively homogeneous society it should be easier to be egalitarian - look, for example, at the modern kibbutz movement.
Republicans always agree with government programs that benefit them personally and abhor any program that they perceive to benefit anyone else, because boot straps. Same with abortions: their kids will get one in Switzerland if it comes down to it, but those little poor sluts should’ve thought about the consequences…
This all just reminds me of Megyn Kelly not caring about maternity leave until she had a child herself. We shouldn’t need to have an experience before showing empathy towards people who have faced or are facing that experience.
