Yeah, it was clearly a terrible stylist.
Yeah, it was clearly a terrible stylist.
I am, not sure, what you mean.
Editors, producers, I understand what he meant.
Honestly — why on earth did they have to cook for the entire audience if only the judges' votes mattered?! They've been doing this all season, "cook 500 dishes for 500 people and you'll be judged by the four of us dropping in on you while you perform catering duties with no assistance." That is irritating.
That's the word for it — pacing. The pacing was off. It wasn't even necessarily the format; it could have succeeded if it wasn't so haphazardly edited/produced.
I thought that they were both "styled" in a pretty terrible/obvious way for that show. Brooke isn't the kind of person to be styled, so she was awkward. Kristen has experience modeling, so she's more comfortable with having random makeup and accessories thrown on her.
@avclub-a43012a332fc066e7ecf57a9b678fb51:disqus I'm trying to make an appropriate metaphor for people who don't have a sense of community or solidarity.
@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus I forget the exact joke, but it was a really crude one about Jesus and BDSM and Mel Gibson. I felt really witty as I was saying it, then instantly realized this was not the place, time, audience, "why did I have to say that one instead of just thinking it?"
I understand the premise, but the execution was sloppy and the target/timing was not good.
You are a sad strange little man.
@avclub-e57f718840a576abbb40a7d046c4e3b0:disqus I understand that, just as I understand your sense of humor/posting history. It's still way out of line to call her a future meth addict. Jesus Christ.
Excuse me?
@avclub-4cb70423fbd01750747f24fd7cc2e410:disqus Right.
@avclub-ffc905126015cdc6758873970fb59828:disqus That was our paper's take on it, but many people/groups were of the opinion that we should have had the editorial standards that would have prevented such a dumb article from being printed in the first place. I didn't agree with the paper publishing a stubborn article…
*rolls eyes*
I'm not sure if the AV Club can write about controversy around its own sister publication.
More of my black friends have been casually sexualized or insulted when they were little girls, which my white friends have experienced far less. It's something that all little girls go through, which sucks; but it sucks even more that it's just sort of relentless and unending for black women.
Why? Why does an apology hurt more than a joke?
Right! I thought that the Onion's response was tactful, empathetic and concise.
Hey, so now's a good time to talk about that intern who was manning The Onion's twitter, right? Looks like there's a young dork out there who needs to find a new gig.
