the romance between darryl and val was a little weird, but i couldn't help but smile at that last (not terribly well plotted) moment between them. i mean, ok. poorly written, paced, whatever. i like darryl and the idea of him getting the girl that he likes makes me happy.
The excuse that they made for Robert as he left was even more insultingly half-assed. Might as well say that he died on his way to his home planet.
