How I Broke Up With Ernie? Wow. NOBODY remembers that book. It was actually one of my favorites. I'm so glad Goosebumps meant so much to you.

It isn't that hard to create lasting horror because people's fears don't change. Technology changes. Music changes. Styles change. But people are still afraid of the things they probably were afraid of in caveman days.

Glad you enjoyed Eureeka's Castle. I always say, it was like Sesame Street only we didn't teach the kids anything. Scary movies don't ever scare me. They always make me laugh. But I have to admit I stay away from slasher and splatter movies. I guess I'm too squeamish for the unsubtle kind of horror.

Well, yes, I was a very fearful child. Afraid of most everything. I think that's why I stayed in my room typing for hours at a time. Now I can remember that childhood feeling of panic and use it in my books. In a way, I guess it was lucky.

Stay away from Camp Jellyjam. Too smelly.

I wouldn't want to run into ANY of my characters! By the way, Slappy and the lawn gnomes appear in The Goosebumps movie, which we just finished filming.

I'm always looking for clever horror movies, but they're hard to find. I thought Cabin in the Woods was clever because it turned out not to be what you thought it was.

So glad my books were meaningful to you.
