Was I in that? It's hell to get old.

Apichatpong Weerasethekul (I think I managed to spell that right) is a gem. I watched Tropical Malady on the verge of passing out of tiredness and that second half gave me nightmares. What a beautiful, dream-like movie. I was really glad I experienced it how I did.

Oh, do you mean Grimey?

Do you mean the Pentagon?

Nah, for the sanctity of making a good argument. I mean, he's an entertainer and isn't trying for PBS-style coverage, but it's still a little juvenile.

Shit, what have I done???

If you say the word "racist," then you're a racist. Sorry Mohd.

As long as being anti-Muslim is a part of the deal, they're on board.

I'm defining it in this scenario as someone who pursues it as a full-time career, quality of their work notwithstanding.

The "many" I refer to are the liberals who agree with his message but disagree with his methods. Fuck FOX News. That channel should be the real "no go" zone. The world would be a better place.

Depends on who is doing the labelling. I've read enough conservative websites praising God's Not Dead, Persecuted, and America for telling the truth Hollywood doesn't want you to hear.

Yeah, but you're speaking in terms of his overall message. I won't argue that he was "right" in what he was arguing with those films. What many complain about is that he ends up spoiling that message with poorly-executed stunts and misinformation.

Which brings up an interesting question: Why are conservatives so absent from the art world? Clearly there are exceptions, but no matter which medium you're in, liberals tend to dominate the profession. Are the conservatives right, and a predetermined liberal bias scares the other side away/keeps them quiet in their

Yeah, in retrospect, I'm pretty sure most people agree now that this, along with the rest of Moore's work, was extremely overrated. Time fixes a lot of these oversights. But despite this proverbial ball-fondling (seriously, he has an Academy Award?), his shit is nowhere near as laughable and crude as D'Souza and

Yeah, Justified is too smart to throw that line in for no reason. My guess is there will be a showdown where Raylan gets to choose one or the other. I will be sad to see it though. Damn my antihero sympathy complex.

Indeed, first-century Jews had developed a concept of Satan as a devil. It's interesting that you note they thought he was the cause of their enslavement, as their history supporting the Deuteronomic code would suggest that previous to that point in history they had always thought God was punishing them for their

Yeah, "Satan" is just a Hebrew word that translates to "adversary." It's more a role than a proper name, as in when someone's playing "Devil's advocate," they are playing the adversary, which is Satan's role in Job. So the idea that it's translated as a character and not as a role really doesn't have any sound footing.

And, now I may be wrong about this, but I don't think Benjamin Franklin legalized slavery either.

As funny as this interview is, my memory is that he was surprisingly strong and sensible in his interview for Bowling for Columbine. Of course, that may just be because my expectations were so low.

Unfortunately, I really don't think there would be any difference this go-round. Discerning who the enemy is when you're not fighting an army doesn't get any easier just because we have a reason to fight this time. I don't really see any way we don't eventually go back, though. Fear always wins over having an actual
