You're thinking of True Detective. This shit is gonna rock.

Very true. Letters from Iwo Jima alone proves that Eastwood deserves a fair shake for anything he puts out.
Nothing says "Martin Luther King Day Weekend" like watching a white guy kill a bunch of brown people. We're celebrating, guys!
The only thing that can stop a bad hero with a gun is a good hero with a gun.
What's totally amazing about that possibility is that, given the ISIS situation, a Bush would undoubtedly declare war on Iraq for the third time in a quarter-century. The amusement of that fact alone might be enough to get me through what would inevitably be a very depressing four years.
Perhaps that's the reason. It didn't sell for me, though. It never came across as funny, just pathetic and a little off-putting. I stand by my statement that there were better choices, or less distracting ones at least, that could have knocked that role out of the park.
It's a good film, but I'm not sure it's one that will be universally disliked as much as universally forgotten (I just wrote earlier today that no one talks about Capote anymore, which is a shame, because I think it's downright brilliant).
Wow, I looked at some of the other films that weren't nominated in 2005.Cache, The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, and L'Enfant? Damn the Academy and their anti-foreign bias. None of them even got a foreign-language nomination. Crazy stuff.
Didn't Crash win that year?
Now that's a bit extreme, wouldn't you say?
I still have nightmares over all the anuses in Art Crawl.
Thank you for pointing this out. I had a lot of friends who have cheered in the past for wins like Reese Witherspoon and McConaughey. Albeit they aren't as big of movie buffs as I am, so they may not understand much about the game, but I feel like anyone should be asking themselves, "Don't they have enough nice…
Huh?
The Illuminati, obviously, but you didn't hear it from me.
This comment has led me into the weird world of Neil LaBute's trolling history, so I guess thanks for that.
I hope you include Essie Davis in your dark horse list. Her work in The Babadook was mesmerizing, and I'm getting really tired of seeing the same ten women getting nominated year after year. I don't think there are many actresses who are capable of putting on the kind of one-woman show she pulled off, or elevating a…
And stay away from the Ponzi schemes. That's the only reason he keeps taking these bullshit movies.
I don't understand those ironic Cage folks. There seem to be a lot of people on the Internet who must have no knowledge of Leaving Las Vegas or Adaptation or Bad Lieutenant. Anyone who thinks this guy is anything but a deliciously great actor has no idea what acting is. The guy gives it all in every performance, and…
And the fact that she allows a character that she has called "herself three years ago" to get into the best MFA writing program in the country gives a bit of info to what she thinks of her own abilities. The show has some redeeming qualities, but not enough for me to put up with another season. I might have to check…
Tell me about it. Get me the hell out of here!
