Was it a joke? I guess I naturally assumed there was some context we weren't getting (like Wiseau had been referencing some fake assistant pre-interview to make himself look important) and Steve just had some balls to call him on a bluff.
Everyone from Frozen deserves to have their named butchered by an old drunk with a leather face. It's unfair that only Bell and Menzel should get that honor.
Listen, ye sinners, and repent! The day of reckoning is upon us, and your one true hope rests in the everlasting light of Tommy Wiseau! All who swear to the One True Filmmaker shall be forgiven, and those who do not shall be turned over to the despair of the world, consumed in a pit of violence and vengeance,…
Is our filmmakers learning?
The balls on Steve to question John's existence pushes him up to the tip top of my favorite AV Club writers.
I'm more of a Michael Grimm man, myself.
Maybe. Or maybe Wiseau is hiding dead bodies in his basement and simply hasn't been caught yet. I mean, we never did find out what happened to John.
Also, Tommy's butchered English is about as beautiful as it gets:
Damn it. Doctuar!!!
Can't it be both?
Did you read all of it?
I suppose Tommy Wiseau is the Amanda Bynes for us hipsters who are too intelligent for TMZ, but not intelligent enough to be opposed to watching a mentally unstable person on the verge of devastation.
I absolutely love how blissfully unaware Tommy is of whatever the hell he's doing. I mean, that was pretty clear all along, but the "I knew a guy who was a landlord" answer allowed me to understand why The Room exists for the first time in my life.
Well, he also accuses of Greg Sestero of illegally publishing photos without permission and fabricating…um, excuse me, "exaggerating" stories for financial gain, and then reinforces that Greg is still a friend.
Hmm, I feel like Justified has been fairly strong on focusing on side characters, albeit none of the other marshals. It's downright criminal we haven't gotten any more of Art, Tim, and Rachel than we have. But I think Boyd has probably gotten close to the same focus as Raylan. I guess we just differ here.
If being gay made you good-looking, then my life would be so much easier.
I miss Margo Martindale too. What a genuine, moving performance that was.
I've watched most of Justified's 5th season and, although it so far does seem like it's meandering and overcomplicated, it has still been way more enjoyable than I expected, given the reviews and general disappointment on this site. There's something to be said for low expectations, I suppose.
I think it's probably attributable to me expecting something entirely different from what was delivered. I do remember being infatuated with Phoenix and Hoffman, and I still don't think I've seen a more dynamic duo in a film. Even if I still dislike the film, I'll be excited just to relive those performances.
