^So much this^

I didn't enjoy The Master the first go-round. It's on Netflix, so a rewatch is definitely in order. There Will Be Blood is a bona fide American classic, however.

The evil ones always do.

You know, he's not a terrible looking dude. I'd buttfuck him for the right amount of money. Give me a call, Stevie.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like some small-town folks (I live among them and can't wait to get the fuck out). Tough it out for now. Soon enough, you'll get a way better opportunity, where your coworkers aren't hopeless, soul-sucking meat sacks.

Andy Daly was robbed of an Emmy nomination. His acting in the series, and that segment in particular, was as good as anything else you'll see on TV.

The Maintenance Sex story has brought up an interesting point, so I will seek out the eternal Dik wisdom.

From what I've read about the suicide hotline, that's basically what it is, since most people who are suicidal wouldn't be trying to prevent their own suicide, so it just winds up being used by people who aren't in any sort of crisis and just need to talk. Still, it's a great idea.

Yeah, I got a bit carried away myself that night. That lady was unleashing all kinds of nonsense. I really hate when trolls infiltrate my beloved AV Club.

Thanks for including Mulaney in there. I'd been losing sleep over that.

Luckily for most celebrities, I can only afford coach.

I had a friend who sat by him on a flight and never let him in on the fact that he recognized him. I would've been off the hook with a bunch of stale Ghostbusters jokes he's heard a million times. What a waste of a plane ticket.

It's not entirely his fault. They never gave him strong material. But he's easily the blandest person The Daily Show ever put on.

I've never particularly enjoyed him on The Daily Show. I'm not sure that's about to change, unfortunately.

Somebody doesn't like fun.

Interesting, is Sam Adams a 19-year old twink? I never would've guessed.

I think it's wonderful. Hell, Oprah's Book Club + The Coen Brothers turned me on to Cormac McCarthy. It's so hard to find great material in this cultural cesspool we have; any recommendation you get is worth it, no matter where the source.

You're totally right. The guy so perfectly humanizes and fleshes out his characters that it often feels to me like he's lived their lives. It's such a remarkable talent. He was a gift to humanity.

Also, not reading it is another fine option, which I would recommend unless you are wanting spiritual counsel or ammunition to debate with Christians.

I took a class on it to force myself through it. It was a lot easier with a scholar walking you through the historical context. Unfortunately, that's not an option for everyone, but I'm sure there are Yale Open Courses online that can help. It's really dry and meaningless without that kind of assistance the first time
