My hunch is that maybe the flaperon was part of a larger piece (which may not have floated on that same angle, or any angle for that matter), allowing the flaperon to remain underwater long enough for the Lepas to take hold and grow; if the larger piece eventually disintegrated or broke off in the last 10 years and

I’m liking that profile

Not necessarily. Some CEOs prioritize the long-term sustainability of a company, and make long-term strategic decisions. Some CEOs actually value their workers. CEOs of private companies don’t have a share price to worry about at all.

Stock buybacks should just be outlawed. The only allowable reason for a company to buy back stock, is if the company is using the bought back shares to give to their employees as compensation.

The whole “awarding stock to executives aligns management with the shareholders” always makes me laugh. They weren’t already aligned?

This MBA agrees. I worked in DoD acquisition and took great joy in calling out vendors’ bullshit because I could accurately predict their behaviors and excuses.

The effects of stock buy-backs rests solely in the reduced funds going into R&D and rather into the pockets of shareholders. The general public is led to falsely believe in the stability of a companies future relative to the marginal positive effect of higher valuations.

When he says “brotherhood” I keep hearing the word “Aryan” in front of it.

Finally, an electric car for us assholes!

“Bludicrous”

It does look a bit like one of those kids beds that are supposed to look like a racing car.

I stand by my submission. Look at it from the side. There’s so much more of it overhanging the front, than the back. It’s just... weird.

It isn’t slander if it’s true.

I’m sure Fancy Kristen has a few in her garage somewhere .... :)

Some key info here: The Cybertruck *was* crash-tested. It had to be, to get licensed for sale by the NHTSA. The results of that test were filed with NHTSA so that Tesla could legally affix the sticker to each CyberTruck that says it conforms to the FMVSS (49 CFR Part 567).

What NHTSA does is *independently* re-tests
