Stop trying to just bend the panels and spend the money on some tools to stamp them with a little surface curvature.

1st gen was, and is, legendary. Picking up the mantle first laid down by the original NSX of a usable super car and creating a fresh design language. It’s crazy how “Meh” the 2nd gen is in comparison. Lightning did not strike twice

A brave good guy with some keys is way more effective than a bunch of cowardly good guys with guns...

The Delorean panels were stamped and everyone of them had at least slight curvature in them to create proper tension across the metal.

If you have a huge technical issue like that, as a designer, I recommend you lean into it. Should have designed deliberately large panel gaps. With such a deliberately polarizing design goal I’m sure something like that could have been achieved.

Just making flat panels is a giant PITA. Should have put even a little surface curvature on that stainless steel. It’s going to look like extra shit in no time as it age flexes and/or collects impacts of any kind.

I went back to watch this again after seeing the new one. This was not a good movie. Not just a poor match for Lynch’s sensibilities, it is not well made on any level. Let the hate flow from Lynch fans now...

I’m guessing a little last second wind shear drove it down into the ground. Other than that it didn’t look too bad on approach.
