It’s a flat plane-crank V8. The only current American flat plane V8 is the Ford Mustang GT350/R, the rest (including the LS) are all cross-plane crankshaft design.
Flat-plane crank
that sounds like shit
Pretty sure these guys know what they’re doing.
And no LT1. The LT1 with the Zf6 gearbox does 0 to 60 in 5.2s, all the way to 160mph (don’t ask me how I know) and it’s gear limited as 6th gear is just an overdrive. And it’s a lot heavier than the RX7. I daily drive a rotary and I’d jump on this thing anytime. But an automatic C4 Corvette that is not a LT1 at the…
‘merica ain’t about what one needs. ‘merica is about what one wants. We didn’t get to the moon on needs. We got to the moon on Testicles... and the need to show those commies how awesome we were.
Well no I don’t actually go to body school or have neck tattoos, that’s the joke part. The not joke part was my co workers ‘13 Ram getting bought back for rust over the wheel wells at 14 months old. So that’s where I formed my opinion on that subject. Is that fair to Ram? Maybe not. Is it fun to tease people about on…
That’s definitely a choice you have to make. I’d point that the Ridgeline is a good bit cheaper than the Colorado and unless you need the extra capability of the low range and extra towing then the mileage and ride will outweigh the idea of a “more capable” truck in day to day life. I know for my preferences a deep…
This will probably get lost in the torrent of comments that have already been made, but what the hell. I’m kind of disappointed by a fair number of the comments here. I always figured Jalops had automotive enthusiasm that was tempered by a dose of sensibility. Obviously, that’s not the case for all you here.
“Waaah,…
Wonder how many of these we can come up with. I like autoblog’s headline:
Nope. I don’t like sheep.
And most of the suburban contractors as well.
Ha Good one.
2017 Ridgeline: So good we had to compliment it a little before reminding everyone that your dick will shrivel up and fall off unless your truck has a ladder frame, low range, and a beard, no matter how capable it is.
Someone didn’t read the article. it works both ways. Flips down, and swings away.
So to summarize: The Ridgeline is terrific. But it isn’t terrible enough to be a truck.
I’m hung up on the looks, but otherwise it sounds like the perfect option for most non-contractors who truly need a truck.
I will say, I think the front of it is pretty attractive, but thereis a resounding problem with pickup trucks, today. That is: they all freaking look the same. Take ANY pickup truck on the market, change the face and call it something else.
