What you see there really isn’t that bad. Those two small wires are for a hard-wired fan, and the red thick wire on the left is just a second ground cable.

I have extensively researched HD’s products to determine that they are, in fact, a poor value when compared against the competition. I am not actually a clown, so I’m uncertain if you meant for only actual professional clowns to respond. But that’s my personal experience.
