That’s the problem. It’s $31k for a barebones Jeep. You can get a Chevy Trailblazer, which is slightly bigger with AWD (just to compare apples to apples) for $6k cheaper. You can get a Rav4 for around $2k cheaper and it’s significantly larger. The Mazda CX-30 is $8k cheaper. It’s not that you can’t get a Jeep in that…

Not just marketing, but also manufacturing. Jeep (and most Stellantis products in the US as a whole) have had questionable reliability for decades now.

Jeep: We have traditionally been popular with a lower tier credit customer so to increase sales we are raising prices…by a lot.

Jeep (and also Dodge/Chrysler) have spent the last two decades making embarrassingly crappy cars that only appeal to the kind of people who have no business buying a new car in the first place, sort of like if the mid-00s Altima was an entire model lineup. I’m surprised they actually admitted to it.

Some 25 years ago, i drove from DFW to Austin and jt was 80-95moh almost the whole way, across multiple lanes. The biggest hazards were people poking along at 50-55mph. Speed wasn’t responsible for accidents, but speed differentials were!

Germany’s roads, with the exception of a few stretches, are actually much slower than the interstates in Texas.
