Why do older turbo motors have more torque than horsepower? My 2008 VW Passat had 200hpand 207lb so I’m not quite sure why its backward with these newer cars. Does it have something to do with the displacement size?

How on earth did the radiator not crack? I mean that little bump on TopGear in the Mazda and the VW so this is crazy it was able to get home.
