Setup your shot. You know where the jump is, focus on where the car will be and then take the shot. You'll sacrifice resolution and sharpness for post-focus ability, and that will hurt all your shots, not just the ones with something out of focus.

I'm not sure why so many people are fervently defending Dunn's actions. Any one of the trifecta of poor decisions he made that night greatly increase the likelihood of an accident or death when an accident does occur. There are a lot of things that will increase those odds, but they don't matter. Someone went out

Death is tragic. People die for good reasons; people die for bad reasons.

It seems to me like they've patented a way to browse the new Gawker media layout: a way to scroll a frame inside of a web page without scrolling the entire webpage.

This was reported on last year. I don't see it going mainstream. It may someday end up in consumer cameras, but it will be a feature like in-camera HDR or panoramas. Some people will use it, but focusing correctly, using multiple exposures, and stitching multiple photos will always yield better results.

Shipping media mail from Alaska? Hope you don't want it this year.

There was a video we watched in chemistry class years ago that was made by a science teacher. There was a lake near a mine that ended up with a very high pH from some of the mining byproducts and they brought someone in to pH balance it. That someone was this teacher who decided to make a good demo of it.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, as I haven't been following the news very closely, but phonetically reversed "we" is heard as "you". In other words, if you were to record yourself saying "Wii U" and played it backwards, you would hear "Wii U".

No, because it's not a macro lens, it is just increasing the viewing angle.

It was free for a few years because it was free-quality service. You got an email address with IMAP and 20 MB of iDisk space and that was it. I don't think it was too long after that that Google started the Gmail beta with 1 GB of mailbox space

I really don't see the need for streaming everything. I don't have a gargantuan music collection. It all fits on my 32 GB iPhone with space for apps. It would be annoying if I had 100+ GB of music and I listened to all of it, but even with the music I do have, there's a lot that I just don't listen to that often.

You mean like MobileMe/iTools/.Mac? That started out free way back when I hadn't yet turned my back to Apple. I had rpowers@mac.com and it was awesome. I had a 20MB iDisk and it was awesome. Then Apple wanted $99/yr for mediocre service that I could get cheaper or for free elsewhere. So, I lost my email address, and

She's a skilled musician and plays catchy tunes. I have a lot of respect for most musicians. In this case, musicians that are respected do not include performers who can't actually create music on their own. That is definitely not the case for Gaga.

That's quite the nose you've got!

Damnit! Replied to the wrong comment!

Are you sure it doesn't just need salt?

@sydcinema: I will believe you when Thunderbolt takes off. Hint: It won't.

Failure isn't an option for Apple because they either get it right, or they show the world how everyone else has the same problem (even if they don't).

I had to go to the lame-o movie theater rather than the nice one to see Thor because the nice one didn't bother showing it in 2D.
