I don't really see what there was to doubt about the resolution claim (unless they were playing some sub-pixel games). I think the controversy was mostly over the claims of pixels the eye can't perceive and some of the marketing material showing the supposed difference in resolution.

MoCA needs to be commercialized. It is a great alternative to installing CAT5/CAT6 in the walls of your house. If I were building new, I'd put in CAT6 along with some conduit for future-proofing, but I didn't build new.

@Fazulka: You would need to have an existing ethernet network in your walls for MoCA to not have any benefits. I was considering MoCA after I decided that tearing up part of my house to put in CAT6 wiring so that I could transfer files from my desktop to my HTPC that much faster wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, MoCA is

@SkipErnst: It would make for some really awesome art installations. I was really just going for the "not complicated" part. It's also not practical.

@SkipErnst: It is actually a pretty simple setup. If you use an IR LED, you basically shine it from an angle so that the light is totally internally reflected, set the webcam up opposite it with the IR filter removed (and ideally a visible filter installed), and when a finger breaks the surface, you will get a darker

I wonder if they bought 3GS's on early upgrade from their 3G's. It is understandable for the first gen to 3G upgrade since AT&T was allowing everyone to get the new contract price if they had the original iPhone (due to the unsubsidized price), and at the time the 3G was released, unlocked and off-contract first gens

@OCEntertainment: Yeah, man. You should have bought an iPhone like everyone in the world. Slightly fewer Android phones were sold in the last hour than they were in the hour before (forget that it is later right now and stores are closed). Android is dead, baby! Android is dead!

IIRC from the article on this on CNN, it doesn't break the skin, so it doesn't "tear penises up."

As I understand it, UV light can damage some forms of OLED. I'm not sure if this is applicable to the kind found in phones or not, but I'd be wary of sticking an AMOLED in there.

I love how despite all the articles on the internet with experts telling the people on the internet why their ideas on the internet won't work in real life, they'll continue to insist that the experts in real life are wrong. Internet.

Jesus, I think the "most extreme power of Utah" is probably a reference to the fact that execution is the most extreme power a state has when it comes to punishment. I don't think it's an issue of self-righteousness at all. Utah exercised the power it has to execute, and would you deny that it is the most extreme?

@qwijybo: I think we've reached the point of parity. Odd.

@acidrain69: You're assuming the machine is also perfectly efficient and picking up only oil in it and not an oil/seawater mix. If it were that perfect, we just run a hose with a pump down there and get it done faster. So your 220,000 barrels per day is of the seawater mix, and in the areas where you'd want to be

@im2fools: It can separate 220k barrels of water. Not barrels of oil from the water. The oil is spread out. 220,000 barrels of seawater is a drop in the bucket compared to the area the oil is contaminating and that's why I think this is just a PR stunt.

@AkkiRonin: I have a 47" computer monitor. This is also known as a TV. I primarily use it for XBox 360 and my HTPC. Occasionally, I like to tune local broadcast channels and what things that are called Television Programs. I sit on a couch across the room, while substituting a real "computer monitor" would result in

@FriedPeeps: How frequently did Nintendo change the Game Boy formats?

I am pretty sure I will walk into the local Radio Shack tomorrow and preorder one without waiting in any lines, and on the 24th, I will pull in on my way to work in the parking spot right at the entrance and pick it up without waiting in any lines. I have never seen anyone else at this store other than employees. I am

@Blackened: You could buy an app in iTunes on your computer that would not run on your phone.
