Do the Right Thing is tough for modern audiences (or maybe even audiences of the time) to swallow…because they're expecting a gritty urban tale (see Clockers for that).

honestly…as a huge Spike Lee fan, I can't see this being anything but a disaster.

like any good really long movie, it doesn't feel that long. JFK felt similar to me…couldn't believe it was like 4 hrs after watching it the first time (I know some would diasgree, though…)

ooh! is it too late to tie this in with the Q&A about awkward family entertainment? Because I totally rented SoS during a holiday when I was 18 or so and made my whole family sit down and watch it with me. Biiiiig mistake. Luckily we shut it off before the orgy scene.
