These are still being hyped because almost all commercial hydrogen production is via reforming natural gas. Since big oil still profits, it counts as practical tech, as compared to EV’s

Some decades ago, I was spending a week every other month in a RHD country (either England, or Ireland. I didn’t try driving the times I was in Tokyo). I discovered that once (and almost always just once), I would whack the door reaching for the shifter. Surprisingly, I would also do it once when I got back home.

I really wish I could have made some time on my one trip to Nashville to take in the Lane. Instead I spent it tracking down bits of metal, thanks to a production company when presented my list said “If we can’t get it at Home Depot, it doesn’t exist”

Look for stuff talking about the league of American wheelmen, and the good roads movement. Or find a copy of Asphalt Nation by J.H. Kay, which is where I read it.

Can't do it for the price, but find a crashed Leaf battery pack. Get rid of the lead acids, and stuff the lithium in its place. Lose close to 1000 lb, double or triple the range. (with a hardtop, and the right motor/gearing choice, you should break 100 miles/charge). If you are clever, you should be able to drop

Actually getting the roads paved is something we can thank the bicyclists for. They were the ones lobbying hard for it in the 190X years.

I agree that alcohol and or recreational pharma is the most likely explanation, but one possibility would be carbon monoxide poisoning. An exhaust leak, especially one pre catalyst, and your car might become its own gas chamber.

I suggested this in another thread: Robert Llewellyn - The US knows him as the host of Junkyard Wars (Scrapheap Challenge in the rest of the world), and some might know him as Kryten from Red Dwarf. I think he would do a fine (and suitably lighthearted) job.

One possible host, Robert Llewellyn. I know him as host of Scrapheap Challenge, you know him as host of Junkyard Wars. (same show, they changed the name for the US market). Some might know him as Kryten from Red Dwarf.

You can stick with VAG, and get an e-Golf. The only way to tell them apart at 25 feet is to notice the aero wheels. Same ride, fun in traffic (all that torque right off the line). Assuming you can use the whole tax credit, and with the check that Mass sends, the price is about the same (list) as the equivalent trim

Look forward to hearing your impressions on the e-Golf. Just past 1000 miles on ours.

Here is how you can make a robin more frightening (but better looking). Convert it to run on steam. In one day.

We went to a local Ford dealer to try some of their alternative drivetrain vehicles. We wanted to try the focus pure electric, and the plug in C-Max. Now on Ford's web site, they said the local place had some C-max both plug in and regular, but the Focus pure electric was in "extended inventory". (means its at

People aren't always plugging in, just walking away, possibly leaving the fob. Certainly if I had to have a Valet park my car, I wouldn't expect them to plug it into a charge point.

I can see a few scenarios for this happening. All assume an operator new to the vehicle. Obvious example: Hand keys to a valet. Valet puts car in enclosed space. No engine noise, they assume its off, and walk away. Car starts up a half hour later. Same with a rental customer.

But to get that 4 wheel steering, they ditched the double rear axle. The 6x6 was part of its charm (and ability to pull just about anything thru deep muck).

You just drove home from the dealership in your car with 100,000 mile change interval plugs. Go get your plug wrench, and your can of anti-sieze. Pull the plugs, apply the goo, and re-install.

They also have a huge table of license plates, including all the commemorative ones, etc. Did catch them out tho, they didn't know about the Mass. EV and EC plates. (electric vehicle, and electric commercial)

Long ago, I had a car that got named "the golden heap", its color and age (and especially the very high mileage for the time) meant it was a bit of a heap...

Any idea as to the overall dimensions, and what sized object will fit thru the doors?
