Here is one I built. It took the prize at the inaugural "Raising the Bar" competition sponsored by the George Dickel distillery. The theme I picked was "a bar in Bartertown". The result is 100% post consumer recycled (everything but the welding rod).

I have a soft spot for these things, my parents actually owned one, when I was in Jr high. (they took a trip to London, and my mother decided she wanted one. To my fathers surprise, she actually followed thru. She made jokes about only buying one souvenir for herself) Looking at the picture, the engine looked a

1. You are driving too fast for the turn. The whole thing about speed limits is that they are supposed to be based on sight distance and reaction time. If you don't have time to react when rounding said blind corner, you took it too fast. After all, instead of the cyclist, it might well have been a farm tractor,

Why take the copy when you could have the original. Mazda made no secret that they were inspired by the original Lotus Elan. Imagine one with a current engine, and minimal other changes - 1400 lb, with something like 200 hp. Yea, a top that didn't require a wrench to erect would also be nice, but that can be

They did make a 914-6. Not sure which version of the 911 engine they used, but the result was the same size. Somewhat different sheet metal (the nose included an air dam), but the engine made wonderful noise.

The weight was closer to 1700 lb, so even more fun. My first car was a '66 1600, (100 hp, but after learning to drive in a VW bus, what happened the first time I planted my foot was a real surprise). Unfortunately a Chrysler t-boned it.

Its been offered up many times in the thread, but everyone uses the coupe. If I am going to wrestle the prince of darkness, at least give me a ragtop. (and a series 1, while the tooling was still fairly fresh)

Indeed. Its not like they don't build them currently, they just aren't interested in importing them. I look at the current "small" toyota, and just shake my head. All that size, and still only a 6 foot bed.

If you really wanted small and light, how about a comparable vintage Elan? (I live too far north for a side-curtained car.)

Lotus Elan (the original) Why get the inspired by, when you could have the original. (Preferably with the factory "R" tweaks). As far as Japanese copies of a brit original, a datsun 311 (fairlady), in 2 liter, dual solex copy trim. (170 hp, in a 1600 lb package). (my first car was a 66 1600.)

You get gain as a result of directionality. As long as the antenna gets its gain that way, it might be fine. Unfortunately the catalog entry doesn't include a lobe graph, so I don't know how directional it actually is. My single bay Hoverman has a front lobe of around 35 degrees, and a front/back ratio of 25db,

Any take on how directional these antenna's are? In urban areas, the problem is not signal strength, but multipath. This is signals bouncing off things, and arriving at different times. Back in the old analog days, this would result in ghost images.

By any chance have they fixed the inability to enter repeating meetings in the form of "First Thursday". Many of my events take that form, and right now, the only easy way to enter them is to use google calendar and synch.

Same goes for stick on "engine turned". This one doesn't count, as the factory did it, but I am sure you can buy the stuff as a self adhesive sheet.

Someone in Indonesia with very poor taste, customized a Ferrari Modena. I am sure you could get 500bhp out of Enzo's coffin.... More pictures (unfortunately) at [www.kittyhell.com] I warned you about the brain bleach.

Anything modified by a fan of the evil feline. Here is one Hello Kitty themed interior. In the comments, is another, that will bring pain to the car lover. Have brain bleach at the ready. (and thanks to [kittyhell.com] for having the strong stomach to blog about such atrocities)
