Gizmodo's report on this is shabby of a few details - these applications were modified versions of other free applications on the Marketplace - the end user would be none-the-wiser. Also not-mentioned: Google removed the apps from the market & automatically removed them from all the devices which had installed them.

No. They're assholes for removing an advertised feature, they're assholes for making the update that removes the advertised feature required for many new games, and they're assholes for suing everybody who attempts to retain that advertised feature.
What's wrong with a short article? Personally, I don't see how this article could be expanded upon while keeping it clear - all that needs to be said has been said.
I'm personally going to hold out until there's a lot more tablets on the market, and pick up whatever becomes the HD2 equivalent in terms of community-support.
