Except it isn’t.

What “realities” does the film expose? It’s based on a true story that was widely reported in the media when it originally happened, and most of the film takes place in Central and South America, a place that the target audience has little-to-no sympathy for when they come to the States to seek asylum.

I’ve wondered if the insistence on making NuTrek streaming is due not only to them wanting to use it to launch Paramount+, but also because it’s a struggle for them to get the right fans watching CBS. Like Supergirl, which lasted only a season before transferring over the CW. Or Person of Interest, which they

I am highly skeptical that this will be half-decent -- the first season was not -- but I would love to be surprised.

How could they mess up something so perfect. It boggles my mind.

Supposedly Books 2 and 3 are being combined into one season. Since the seasons are only 8 episodes, that’s going to be quite a lot. I suppose it’s going to work one of two ways - either the Seanchan and TGH end fight occur at the midpoint, and then they move on to the Stone of Tear, or they’re rewriting things so that

I am beyond shocked that this has been renewed.  Did they already have the episodes in the can somewhere?

Do a YouTube search for “Billy Zane Wheel of Time” and hate me later.

As a 80s kid who grew up loving all three, this is such a good point. I wonder if there’s something in the zeitgeist right now that prevents us from capturing the spirit of these? Or is it just that each of these show runners went out of their way to make them contrived and boring?

I couldn’t get past the first episode. It just felt unbelievably mean-spirited. What they did to Perrin actually sickened me.

It’s baffling how they messed this up so badly. I don’t mind changes to source material, but every change they made in this production caused the show to suffer. It wasn’t just bad on its own, it was bad for the genre in general.

I agree, it’s... a journey.

The three big fantasy series in the past couple years - Rings of Power, Wheel of Time, and Willow - were all pretty bad, but WoT was the worst of the three. Some really baffling changes from the source material, which wasn’t exactly high literature in the first place, with 90s-quality special effects and some of the

Wheel of Time keeps on turning

This has to be the worst adaptation I've ever seen. I'm shocked it was picked up for a second season. Extremely dissapointed.

Did they hire better screenwriters for this season?

Weird way of spoiling Sheriam’s affiliation by just making up some alternate background story. If I can assume that you haven’t read the books and are just googling basic info to flesh out your story, I would recommend that in the future you check a little further to make sure you’re not including details from a

I’m dubious of this. Galaxy Quest as a movie forced them to pick and choose exactly what they wanted to lampoon about Star Trek (or similar types of shows). As a result, I think they accomplished exactly what they wanted to accomplish in the movie.

It wasn’t a big favorite of mine, but him trying to dial the tiny pager is always funny

Bedazzled (2000) is an underrated gem. The part when he plays a clueless South American drug lord gets me every time. Same with the two sports announcers (Orlando Jones and Toby Huss) doing their schtick during the basketball scene.
