JK Rowling’s response did have a bit of ‘she looks hot in this dress’ implied, but I think it’s still important as it shows Serena does actually have a womanly figure. Not important because of perceived ‘sexiness’, but because whoever said she was built like a man was implying someone with a ‘womanly figure’ couldn’t

She is not saying look at that ass, she is just saying that she is not built like a man. What that troll tweeted is typical of what strong black women have deal with and that they can never been seen as feminine. Her tweet before was about how she is an amazing woman and a role model and that troll injected saying it

While I am happy that she stood up for Serena, it is a pity that the whole discourse is centred on her sexual attractiveness:

-she looks like a man = she is not hot
‘bullshit, she is hot look at dat ass’

Serena Williams looks glorious in that dress! Oh my god. Those shoes are killer. Happy to see Rowling is defending her.

The mother could be a monster and I would still think that the judge was abusive to those children. Her language was abusive. Putting them into juvie was abusive. The children need therapy, not jail.

Seriously, I don’t care if the kids are actually suffering from brainwashing/parental alienation syndrome or not, the way she spoke to them and treated them was flat-out unacceptable no matter what. She cannot say she was acting in their best interests while simultaneously verbally abusing them and for all intents and

Something seems off with the mom, the dad, the judge, and the advocate. And maybe the kids. Again, this shit is odd all around.

Serena has been doing this shit for ~~~16 YEARS~~~. In tennis terms, that’s a fucking eternity.

Right. Because men aren’t getting deals for wearing the right clothes?

I haven’t seen such a disgusting combination of racism, transphobia, and sexism in the media since Joan Rivers called Michelle Obama a man.

I can’t see how anyone playing tennis would look like a “Barbie Doll.” The anount of running on average is 3 miles in a match, for competitive tennis players.

A friend of mine posted the story on facebook, defending the judge. I think she’s dating some guy going through a custody battle or something... but still. She said something like “these kids are SO OBVIOUSLY brainwashed, (etc.) and fathers always get the raw end of the deal in cases like these.”

Ugh. I will never stop being annoyed (at best) by both the direct and thinly veiled negative comments about Serena’s body. She’s a premier athlete, the best woman tennis player of all time, and a shining light in an otherwise abysmal US tennis program. Fuck ‘em all. I love you Serena. Now go finish that Grand Slam!

I wouldn't say "huh". I would say "fuck the hell off".

Has it occurred to the judge and the father that by jailing them and now with the camp supervision scenario that is only going to make the kids dislike their father even more. Especially he didn't seem too disturbed to protest the incarceration ruling, he could have cancelled or tried to nullify his claim at the

It’s also really common for kids to (of their own volition!) not like a parent and not feel safe with them. All those kids are old enough to have their own opinions. I can’t tell you how shitty it is to be told by the court that because you are not 18, it is impossible that you would have any independent thought and

Her response makes no sense. Do we really need a video to know that what she did was fucked up? Glad their out but also, she sent them to summer camp? Like how the fuck did she do that?

Those poor kids. They are going to be scarred for life.

No man has ever complimented me on the things that really matter, like my impeccable eyebrow game or the fact that I’ve found the perfect shade of red lipstick for my skin tone. Hubs does this. And it is awesome. However the inverse is that he is also aware of the times that my brow game is hurting and my red lipstick

Frankie Grande.
