Those were the days, I doubt there's many still reading from when Tracie blogged as Slut Machine.

Publishing biannually actually sounds like a good idea for a bridal magazine.

I really like this one. It looks the most wearable.

But in Britain where Gervais is from mong and mongoloid were common slurs against people with Down Syndrome and I believe that still is their primary usage, mong only exists as a pejorative.

That would be a statement worth making.

I understand your point but I believe Ricky Gervais is attempting a language-shift too soon the links are not yet severed. He is doing the effect of arguing gay no longer means homosexual because it means lame. I'm all for new forms of linguistic expression but pejoratives linked to ethnicity, gender, sexuality and

Yeah I know he was trying to claim fair use but I really don't think printing stolen images is "transformative" and I would be amazed if any judge agreed with him.

I would be stunned if it didn't, surveys show the majority is in favour of same sex marriage.

I just think the whole argument that I'm not using it against someone with that disease or disability so it's not offensive doesn't hold up, because the name is being used as a pejorative to compare the person targeted with a person with that disease or disability. I understand "spaz" is not considered offensive in

Learning Irish is just something they could do, I don't think many people seriously would. Kids are taught it and very few make it out with more then cúpla focal, I doubt someone attempting it voluntarily would do much better.

That sounds just pretentious enough to work.

Yeah but Ricky was trying to say that he can change mong from meaning like someone with Down Syndrome to ugly/bad/stupid whatever he wants it to mean. Language change takes time, one person didn't unilaterally say decimate now means destroy rather than reduce by one tenth. I suppose I should have clarified that I

Bert Macklin you son of a bitch!

My complaint is about the donators who the prostate cancer charity turned down, my complaint is that they are either remarkably tone deaf or passive aggressive I'm not sure which. I was not intending to debate the merits of various cancers, I did not mention breast cancer at all which is more deadly than prostate

Is their alleged "transformative"ness that they are now asshole detectors in that anyone who attends this exhibition can be rightly judged as one?

I gave up on Ricky Gervais after the mong incident, it's incredibly disingenuous to say that you can divorce a word from all previous connotations and make it mean just what you want it to mean. The reason words exist is because their meanings are understood by those who use them.

Or a disclaimer on tickets "show contains obscene gestures and poorly executed choreography", then whatever they see is at their own risk.

Yeah if you're less Irish than Tony Cascarino you should really make a distinction. There should be a road sign test, if you can't read and pronounce an Irish road sign correctly then say of Irish descent or something similar.

If they're going to identify as Irish they don't get to define what it is according their own whims. If they want to feel closer to Ireland why don't they jaywalk, or emigrate, those are two things far more Irish than homophobia. Or you know learn the language or play Gaelic games.
