The epitome of honor can’t even use kiwi to shine their shoes? They use spit? sounds like they just get off on spinning their wheels.

And we wouldn’t have needed to bail out GM to give people jobs if we just printed enough money for every American to live like KINGS who don’t even have to work. Didn’t you read anything I said? If bailing out GM is good for the economy, why not bail out Enron? Why not bail out Old Greg’s Glass Blowing? Why not just

Yeah! Why doesn’t the government give everyone the billions it gave GM? We could use government money to buy healthcare for everyone, and then we could buy food for everyone, and we could all get section 8 housing in hawaii and we wouldn’t have to work because we’d have so much government money. The only sucker who’d

That doesn’t change the fact the GM exists today because of the largess of the Federal Government. Nothing is ever going to change that fact.

You’re wrong - the GS, SC, and LS all shared V8s. And they’re quite cheap. You can pick up non-VVTI 1UZs for $600 shipped all day long. And the VVTI motors can be found for less than $1,000. But it’s really really rare for something to go wrong with the engines.

For the people who are buying these vehicles and tricking them out, they have money

Oh man those ‘08s are nice! Mine’s a 2005 - it has the heat issue and the first gen ABS. It’s been real great. I kinda want the new one with the six speed but not badly enough to pay money to make it happen. Apparently new one has a taller first gear? I wouldn’t love that when I got trapped in stop and go traffic.

Right on mate! I love the idea of a WRX but they’re just more than I’m willing to pay. The new ones aren’t too bad. But I live in Minnesota and the rattiest, salvage title WRXs with 220k miles and random ‘tuning parts’ on them go for 9k all day long. And you’d think that you could just get a slightly used one and then

Oh man I hope to be like you when I age. Krispy Kreme makes a fine doughnut (and is my barometer for whether hipster doughnut shops are worth it or garbage hipster bologna).

100% agree.

On a car - 125 horsepower at the wheels per ton/ I’m happy at 16 lbs per horsepower. Any more, I’m wondering if the car could be lighter, and any less and I’m going to get stuck behind someone slow on a two lane road and think ‘why didn’t I get a car that can make the pass?’

How does the FJR1300 compare to the ‘busa? I have an FJR1300 and every now and then I think about selling it and buying a Busa or ZX14. But I love the shaft drive and in my experience, Yamahas hold together better than Suzukis.

Are you riding ‘70s Harleys? Bikes require more maintenance but you can do almost everything with handtools in a parking lot. And when you factor in the performance, bikes are usually way less expensive to own than cars of comparable 1/4 mile speed.

Same principle right? My only point is that the cheapest excess is muscle bikes / liter bikes. Heck, my 1982 Yamaha 750 gives most cars a run for their money in a straight line.

Here in Minnesota, Lexus RXs can get away with anything I know a guy who traded his STi for an RX350 and he drives the RX350 way faster than he ever drove his STi and he’s never ever been pulled over in his RX350.

But man do those ZX-14s fly down the straights or what?!

Excess is fun but mildly so and it can turn into a curse.

Corollas are important! They keep people from buying the cars we want!

I know that most communications are instantaneous but I’ve always wondered why VIPs aren’t shuttled in supersonic planes.

I drove one for 2 years. My Hyundai Elantra had crapped out on me in college and my brother had an Element and was upgrading to a truck and my parents helped me get into his neglected Element.
